Smallz The Dj is the Next Rated
Moshood Ayinde David, better known as his stage name Smallz, is a Lagos based DJ. He was born on October 19, 1995, in Lagos, Nigeria. Moshood, the second born of Ogun State indigenes claims the influence of his older brother played a pivotal role in molding Smallz into the phenomenal DJ he is today.
His love of music came at a really young age which was further inspired by his DJ older brother. He spent the majority of his youth following his older brother for gigs. At a young age, he was fascinated by his brother's ability to control the crowd which has been pivotal to his growth.
Growing up in a traditional Yoruba home, he attended Agape Baptist College where he first put this curiosity into practice. David would handle the music at his End of the year parties, something he turned into his duty back in high school. His stage name, Smallz was influenced by Notorious B.I.G popularly known as “Biggie Smalls”.
When he enrolled into the University of Lagos he initially wanted to pursue a degree in engineering but graduated a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication.
His knowledge and unique style of R&B, hip-hop, and trap, fused with afrobeats and high life influences, and other genres has earned him a spot on deck at International sensation, Skepta Homecoming concert. After his first single with Ycee & Milli which enjoyed airplays, Smallz has expressed that he would like to go into production.
Smallz crushes beats and delivers an unrivaled work ethic. If you don't catch him at his weekly residency at The Place, Surulere, you are certain to find him at the highly anticipated Mainland Block Party which is the last Sunday of every month.
